What an amazing month!

Family Pizza Night

Early October we had a wonderful family pizza night with 20 people including 5 team. However, once the pizzas were cooked and we started to teach about Jesus, it seemed to flop.

Afterwards in our team meeting, other leaders told me we don’t want to lose our key boys. They suggested we create a Boys & Men night chopping wood, fire, etc.

Men & Boys Bonfire Night

As a result of the ‘failure’ of our Family Pizza Night, our team suggested something different and, as I prayed about it with my closest prayer team, I took it as guidance from God – to try a Bonfire Night at Avalon Beach. I invited a few Christian blokes but the weather was filthy and several folks called me asking, ‘We’re not really going are we?’

Incredibly, 5 local boys arrived and 7 Christian blokes! We carpooled to a secluded beach and began the fire. The boys unloaded the kayak and went adventuring in the wild wetland. We wrapped potatoes in foil, and cooked mince in a pot and the men shared: ‘What does Jesus mean to you?’ The boys listened and I charged the listeners that it’s not good enough to be a boy in a man’s body anymore, but it’s time to grow up and become valuable members of society, strong Christian men; wise, kind and reliable.

Here we are looking at a miracle from God. Our team has been praying for God to show us how to deliver ministry to Christian men and we are also praying for ways to help local lads encounter the wonder of Jesus. The idea of combining both groups in challenging outdoor adventure is quite amazing! Thank you Lord. Watch the space 🙂

Little Ones

“Where is God?”, asked a two year old girl as we talked about Jesus. “Everywhere”, answered Christine, emphatically. Then I opened a new book we’d just bought, ‘Jesus Calling’ from Koorong Books and it said: “If you look into the heavens I am there. If you look into the ocean, I am there. I am everywhere and I love you.” It was such a beautiful miracle of learning about God. We have turned up the spiritual temperature since God told us to and we are seeing these lovely little miracles of encountering God. And we have a new playgroup helper. Praise God!

Pop Up Church

Early in October we had a lovely outdoor service with 55 in attendance, including Christian leaders from 8 different churches. The locals seem to be very grateful for us bringing them love in Jesus’ name and we are seeing lots of little miracles.
