Going Deeper at Bus Stop Cafe
In October we had three special days when we went deeper with those who wanted to read the Bible story more carefully and ask how we can respond to what Jesus is doing. This is in obedience with what God’s been showing us, that we need to ‘go deeper’ with the people we have rather than seek to open new Bus Stop Cafes or Pop Up Churches. This is a big challenge for me (Angus) as it is a clear pastoral role rather than an evangelistic role. Please pray for Christine and I as we embark on this ‘church-planting’ role. I’m thinking, “There is NO plan B”, this is what we must do. “Until Christ is formed in you.”

Royal Geelong Show Evangelistic Stand
I’m so thrilled to have been invited by my friends in the Brethren Church to help host the Jesus Stand at the Royal Geelong Show. They had a very clever way of engaging children to make a “God Bracelet” where each bead represented an important part in the overall Christian ‘story’. It was an honour to serve alongside these seasoned evangelists. One old guy joined us who looked like the biggest dag you’ve ever seen, but several times I saw him with a group of 4-5 teenagers around him, listening to every word he was saying about the story of God’s redemptive action through Jesus! “God has done it!”, he would say, in all faith and humility.

Pop Up Church – Are we doing it next year?
We started the monthly Pop Up Church in Labuan Square three years ago and as we end 2024, I’m asking you to please join me in asking God for the gift of obedience that we will finish, change or continue Pop Up Church in 2025 to the good pleasure of Father God. One of the founders, Kiri Reins, has been actively scheduling local pastors to bring the main message and in October, Paul Hills from Bethel Christian Fellowship brought the message. In November, Ps Steve Greenslade will bring the message.
Did I tell you we were turning our garage into a bedsit?

For some time we’ve felt the call of God to turn our concrete and iron garage into a usable bedsit for the many needy people we see amongst us and for family and friends. So we’ve been tinkering away and then we met Ysabel and Lucero, a mother and daughter from Peru. They’re Christian refugees who need somewhere to live so we’ve put down the accelerator and they’re moving in quite soon! They love Jesus and Christine is keen to help Lucero be the best she can be in Christ!

Faith-Building Event
Finally, our friends at Project Nexus are urging me to run a faith-building, story-telling event for Little Miracles Community Inc. After several discussions, we’ve decided to run this in Term 1, 2025 at Corio Christian Centre. This will be for those interested in mission to join the Little Miracles Community in sharing the stories of God’s action in bringing redemption to individuals and families through Bus Stop Cafe and Pop Up Church.
A quick shout out to Nancy and Max Leslie, our new friends in their late 80’s who are helping the Bus Stop Cafe Sewing Crew. A Godly couple who’ve joined recently and are strong in the Lord and are keen to pray and share their deep love and wisdom. An answer to prayer as we’ve been asking God to send ‘grandparents’ to help deepen the gravitas at Bus Stop Cafe.
I’ve got a job!
After a truck load of closed doors, I’ve got my first shift cleaning a school here in Geelong. Not sure this is the right job for me, but I’ll go for it and ask if they have any morning work, which would be more suitable.
