School Holiday Program Update
We are very grateful to God for such a fabulous school holiday program collaborating with Prison Fellowship. Forty six people attended our Pirate-Themed night and enjoyed games, dress-ups, food and learning that Jesus leaves the 99 to find the one. We have already chosen the date for the next event in the next school holidays!
Carmela from Ocean Grove
We had a visit from a friend, Carmela, who wants to start an outreach cafe in St Peters Anglican Church, Ocean Grove. You can hear her quick reflection HERE on our Facebook page. She’s pretty inspired and we look forward to helping her downstream. It’s awesome that the word about this simple ministry model is getting out and taking root.
Leadership Retreat – Project Nexus
I (Angus) spent two days with these guys at a leadership retreat in the Sunshine Coast. I have walked the journey with several of these folks for about 3 years so it was great to reconnect and compare notes. It was also great to welcome the new leaders to the group and to speak into their situations, sharing things of value.
God’s Object Lesson – “The Big Red Bus”
One of the leaders I met on the retreat was Jakayla. She told me she had got a taste for outreach while serving for 7 years as a barista on this big red bus. “What’s happening with it now?”, I asked. Jakayla replied, “The guy got too old, so I think it’s in his garage.”
This hit me like a train. The effective outreach ministry stopped because the founder got too old. I don’t want that to happen to us but it will unless we get new people in to run it. What a fabulous lesson. Please pray for God’s best plans to come to pass with Little Miracles’ Bus Stop Cafe.
