Vital Statistics for November

Introducing Mainly Play
We have received a grant of $5000 to launch and staff mainly play in Corio in Term 1, 2024. We’re thrilled that we already have 4 families interested in this structured Christian play time for preschool kids. And we already have a facilitator to run the program: Simone Bound. We are in the early stages right now, but we are busily putting the pieces together.

Bus Stop Cafe
For Bus Stop Cafe this month we shifted into Christmas-mode and dressed up as Isaiah and Micah and focused on their prophecies of Jesus’ coming. We are thrilled with the way this is growing with 255 kids coming through in November despite one week when we were closed because of Covid. We continue to view this as a basis upon which we can expand into various community activities such as sewing, cooking, homework, games and more to show the community that Jesus loves them and to help people become disciples of our Lord.

Pop Up Church

We are so grateful to God for the wonderful ministry of Pop Up Church. More and more people are coming to serve others and also to drink at the well of God’s Holy Spirit. We are seeing lives changing, people stepping up and so much blessing. We are so grateful for the solid team from One in Christ Church who faithfully serve every month. Last time we had 100 people attend and since we introduced the rock band, more and more people are coming. We’re gearing up for our Christmas extravaganza which will be huge! Thank you for praying.

Fundraising Video Production
Our board is keen to develop our fundraising capacity and has come up with lots of ideas including creation of a professional quality video to send to interested donors. Our new friend Olly filmed at Bus Stop Cafe last week and I wanted to share her first draft with you. Here it is! Please don’t share it around now. I’ll post and send you the completed one when its truly ready. If you can help by making a donation, it is very important now as our funds are beginning to get seriously low and we don’t want to stop any ministry endeavours. BSB: 633000 ACC: 205 402 357

New Worship Gathering
Over the last few months we’ve become aware that people are coming to faith through Pop Up Church, but they need discipling in a suitable church environment. As a result and after receiving many confirmations, we have held two “dinner and worship times” in our home in Corio. This is our first adventure aimed at Christians, but it is for people new to (or coming back to) faith in Jesus. We are thrilled that Cora Robinson is keen to help lead worship. Watch this space!

Tree planting

As an official volunteer tree planting group, we have planted 5 parks in Corio and we keep watering and protecting the small trees as best we can. Recently Angus was confronted by two local teenage boys who have since almost destroyed the trees in one park. But they will move on and we will go back and replant new trees and try again in time.
Radio Interview
After a couple of months without being on the radio due to a change of radio staff, I’m thrilled to have recorded an interview late in November with Leroy Brown and will be on 96Three monthly going forward.

Painting Church Building
Painting Church Building In November, we were delighted to team up with the Karen church at Corio Christian Centre to finish painting the auditorium. We plan to have more working bees and paint one room at a time until its all repainted.

Pastors’ Retreat
Angus & Christine attended a wonderful Pastors’ retreat at Philip Island in November and were able to stop, relax, eat and network with other leaders in CCCVaT.
