Vital Statistics for July

Thank you for Praying
God is answering your prayers as we’re seeing such favour as we bring Jesus to the people of Corio and Norlane. Thank you. We couldn’t do this without you!
Bus Stop Cafe
Children and parents come bursting in to chat and line up for hot drinks. We continue chatting and play table tennis or other games while waiting for the bus. This is a warm welcome offered by the church and we love it. We will probably open up on another day, too. We’ll continue to walk this way and see what the Lord does with this growing base of positive favour and engagement.

Pop Up Church
We’ve been praying for a pastor, but it seems we might need to take ongoing pastoral responsibility as the group grows in numbers and in depth of commitment to Christ. We are also floating the idea of opening a new Pop Up Church in Whittington, a suburb similar to Norlane. We’ve put a message out on Christian radio 96Three to test the waters and call for collaborators.

Leadership Development
Christine and I had a week away in Bali and read this fabulous book: Deep & Wide, Creating Churches Unchurched People Love to Attend.

It seems the Lord is preparing us for leading our Unchurched attendees on the journey of discipleship. This book challenges us to take responsibility for attracting, retaining, inspiring and leading unchurched folks into a growing relationship with Jesus.

Publicity
We are committed to becoming the local outreach crew of choice in Geelong and part of this is publicity via 96Three Christian Radio Geelong.
After my monthly radio slot with Jay Maurer on Monday 31 July, I chatted with their CEO, David Day. He said he would kindly run a free radio campaign for Little Miracles Community! We have also just begun our presence on Instagram to help connect. Please follow us.

Housing Solutions – Closer to Home
As a small outreach crew we don’t have the capacity to do anything significant about homelessness in 3214 at the moment. However, at a personal level, Christine and I are thrilled to welcome Richard Gregorio into our house for a time. Richard has been a key part of our outreach crew for about 6 months and he needs a place to live. We’ve bought a caravan and he will be staying in our garden.

Fundraising
This month we are beginning a fundraising campaign. If you haven’t already, please consider helping fund LMC via the donate button on our website.
